Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs: „This year, Moldova contributed to the success of the Alliance’s (NATO) missions to promote security and stability on the European continent”
The Republic of Moldova will be invited for the first time at the NATO summit in September, said the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Natalia Gherman, during and interview with Radio Europa Libera (Free Europe).
„We are approaching the NATO summit, which will take place in early September”, said the minister.
„Let’s not forget that, this year, Moldova contributed to the success of the Alliance’s (NATO) missions to promote security and stability on the European continent, we sent a contingent in KFOR. Due to this fact we will be invited for the very first time to the Alliance’s summit„, said Gherman.
Asked whether Russia could be more cooperative after Washington’s request to withdraw it’s army from the Republic of Moldova, the minister said that this appeal will probably not be ignored: „The United States of America are, in fact, a country that consistently promotes this goal, both in the bilateral Russian-American dialogue and within international organizations and bodies”.
