British Columbia cea mai vestică provincie din Canada se confrunta cu o situație dramatică. Valul de căldută care a dus la temperaturi record a ucis în trei zile 230 de persoane. Autoritățile vorbesc despre o perioadă unică în istoria Canadei, potrivit CNN. Până vineri, în Canada, temperaturi de 49,5 grade Celsius erau de neconceput.

Canada a înregistrat marţi o temperatură record pentru a treia zi consecutiv, mercurul termometrului urcând până la 49.5 grade Celsius.

„De la debutul valului de căldură, la sfârșitul săptămânii trecute, BC Coroners Service a înregistrat o creștere semnificativă a numărului de decese la care a contribuit căldura extremă”, a declarat legistul șef Lisa Lapointe.
